I've been bitten!!!

The Holdaway's are well known in the last decade for their interest in running. And of course we don't do the expected, and we don't start small. We pick a lofty goal, and we work hard, and to everyones shock... Voila!!!! We survive, and we conquer!!! I am saying we, all though that maybe an unfair point of reference. I just started so I'm not exactly one of the 'we'. However I ran everyday this week. And twice on wednesday. My legs are sore. My calves are killer. And I love it. Maybe in a sick twisted way there is something behind having an 'ethos' or whatever. Haha. I would love to be ambitious and shoot for the 50 mile rocky raccon race, in texas, in february. Unfortunately it is a huge commitment. If I commit to running the race, I need some crew, pacers or whatnot. I don't know all the details. So if anything, I will just aim to pace one of my fellow esteemed family runners, and start there. All this presuming, I last. But being in pain after a whole week of it, and still wanting to go... it's a pretty good sign I think. Oh and the best part... Last weekend I was at my Uncle Jeff, and Aunt Karen's house. We were having a intense, moist, delectable, death-by-chocolate cake. I mentioned feeling guilty for eating it. And my uncle so simply put it, "thats the best part of running, you don't have to feel guilty again." Lol I took his word for it. I've pushed hard all week, and every bite of food I've eaten this week, I've been guilty free. Truly... I can get used to this. :D

I learned my lesson!

This evening I had a brilliant idea. I was going to prank the 12 year old I nanny. Ian. I had seen videos of people getting spooked by the scary maze game, and I thought I'd try and take my own video of scaring them. Well, Ian had done it before. So he said we should let Michael try it. Mind you Michael is the 8 year old. Haha Yeah you can see me asking for it right. So I'd come downstairs looking for Frank, the father, to ask if I could do this to Ian. He wasn't down there, but I went ahead. So I filmed Michael trying to beat the levels of this maze. I think I have six videos of him, but he kept messing up. He was about to give up, with out reaching the last level, but I still wanted to get the "funny" part. I said, "Here Michael, I'll do the first 3 levels and you can finish the 4th. I realized that if you right click the mouse, and move it to the finish spot in the maze and then left click, it's a lot faster. So I did that on level 1. I did that on level 2. I messed up on level 3. Hence I had to start over. Level 1... finished. Level 2... finished. I just had to finish level 3 and hand it over to Michael for level 4. I'd get the funniest video. So I right click and move the mouse to finish on level 3 I left click to finish the maze AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! The bloody-awful-sonofagun face pops out at me, and we'd had the volume all the way up. Which made the freaky ladies scream Uber-Duber loud. Oh man oh bloody man. I jumped out of my chair and screamed! Clutching my chest and stomping my feet. It only took a couple seconds to understand the consequences. Luckily, Michael and Ian had been walking away, so they didn't see the freaky face, just heard the scream. But Frank and Jennifer come hurrying down the stairs to see what was wrong. I apologized profusely while trying to catch my breath. I explained I'd been trying to scare their 8 year old, and it back fired. I'm sure I'd've been on the brink of losing my job if it'd happened to poor Michael. I apologized more, and they told me it was fine. After the fact Frank told me I can scare Ian... that's fine. But if I scare Michael and he can't get over it, he's sleeping with me. I completely accepted that, and I will never attempt to scare him again. Lol. At least not with freaky images, and loud noises. Oh Golly Gee. I do not recommend that game to anyone! It really not fair to your poor unsuspecting friends and relatives. And last but not least.... I learned to pick on someone my own size (though I'd be so mad at anyone who made me do it, my age or not.) At most of all... Karma... it bites hard!!!! Lesson learned!!

Virginia!!!!

I will first make my apologies to Holly. She has been nagging, and pleading for an update, and I've been putting it off. No good reason. I've just been putting in off. I very much enjoy the family I am living with and working for. Of course not being here quite a week, I don't yet feel like an employee. And it's been a long holiday weekend, so I've technically only "worked" 2 1/2 days. Though all I did in that time was play with the boys. I told Frank I didn't expect him to pay me for at least just this first week, he said no. And that they expected and take the responsibility of paying me when I get out here. It's been slow going though, we haven't yet put me on the insurance, and Jennifer is still revising a contract for me. But we are already accustomed to each other, and I feel this will be an exciting year. I've already been skunked by an eight year old in monopoly. Twice. Yes that was a blow to my poor ego. But I prevailed, and have beaten him since. I love my room, I believe it will be my haven and comfort. I am thrilled to have the privledge of being able to burn candles in my room, I bought one at Wal-Mart the other night. I absolutely love it. 'Mulled Cider' It is such a comforting, homey, fall smell. I burn it every night before I sleep. It was stormy looking all day today, but it never rained. :( Well there is plenty more to report, but I am watching a film with Frank, my "Papa" for all intents and purposes!!!
